Horns grow back over time Studies claim that the regrowth of shortened rhino horns appear to grow back faster than rhino horns that are not shortened.
How this all happen:
• Rhinos are darted from a helicopter by a veterinarian
• The removal points are marked where the rhino will feel no pain for example like cutting your nails just at the right lengt
• Whilst under anesthesia, equipment is used to shorten the horn.
• The eyes and ears are covered to prevent noise damage.
• The stump is trimmed and covered with a type of medicine to prevent from drying and cracking.
We know that by shortening rhino horns we are taking away they’re characteristic feature however we are trying to give them a longer lifespan to survive in the wild.
